Zimbabwe Educational Trust is a local grassroots Yorkshire based charity created by Zimbabweans for Zimbabweans to allow vulnerable young people education or vocational skills, empowering them to discover a hope and a future that frees them from the oppression of poverty.
Supporting community organisations in Zimbabwe, ZET focuses on both the material conditions within schools and wider social conditions which influence education. ZET also aims to increase access to education and increase the quality of education.
ZET's goal is to eliminate the barriers which prevent Zimbabwean children from accessing a full and high quality education. These barriers are found both within schools and within children’s lives outside of the classrom, presenting a variety of interrelated challenges. ZET supports ‘multidimensional’ projects, which are designed specifically to tackle this complexity.
