Summary

I have over 20 years work experience working for INGO, UN agency and health sector inboth development and humanitarian intervention contexts. During last one year, I have been working for UNICEF HQ office as WASH in HCFsconsultant to provide technical support to countries on global strategies implementationand WASH FIT capacity building for scaling up the interventions including training oftrainers on WASH and IPC in health care facilities domains. I previously worked for UNICEF East and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) asIPC/WASH consultant for COVID-19 pandemic response providing technical assistance to 21 ESA countries and facilitating regional coordination of IPC/WASH. Before that I worked for the Carter Center as Behavioral Change Communications (BCC) Campaign Manager for disease control program which involved roles on program management, Implementation, capacity building, and partnership. From 2015 - 2018 I worked for WHO Ethiopia Country office, as a National Professional Officer for Health and Environment program. I provided technical assistance to FMOH on Environmental health and WASH. During 2008 -2015, I worked for Oxfam America, Horn of Africa Regional Office, for seven consecutive years as Humanitarian Public Health Specialist. The role involved support to local partners in humanitarian public health preparedness and response to hazards and disasters which include drought, flood, disease outbreak and internal displacement. Before that I was working for government health sector at different levels (subnational,provincial and district) as expert and team leader.
