Abdoul Salam Bello

I bring over 15 years of international experience in economic analysis, sustainable development, and management/administration. Serving as WBG Executive Director (ED) for 23 African countries since 2022, I play a pivotal role in shaping WBG's strategic direction and fostering communication with various stakeholders. Additionally, I serve as the CODE vice-Chair, overseeing Independent Evaluation Group matters and contributing to resource mobilization for critical initiatives such as COVID19 response, energy, climate, and girls' education. My involvement in organizing an exchange platform for the 3 Rio Conventions on climate change and facilitating the AU-WBG dialogue resulting in the WBG-Aspen partnership for vaccine production in Africa highlights my commitment to impactful collaborations. Furthermore, at UNCCD, I have provided essential support for the implementation of SDG13 and the Great Green Wall for Sahara and Sahel initiative.
