With more than 25 years experience in international development cooperation, specializing in South-South and Triangular Cooperation, research, strategic partnership, resources mobilization, and poverty alleviation in conflict and post-conflict countries. Mr. Hussein has a background in diplomatic studies and represented the State of Sudan as an economic counsellor in Brussels, European Union, as well as in Nairobi, Kenya as Team Leader in various capacities. Mr. Hussein’s experience in working with the UN started in 1988, since then he was involved with different international organizations, Senior manager & policy maker – former civil servant, and senior International adviser with the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation-UNOSSC for the Arab region( 2015-2021). Currently Mr. Hussein is the Director General of private institute. Mr. Hussein also worked with other multilateral institutions, including Castalia Strategic Advisors as Institutional expert /National Team Leader on PPPs ,consultant with the Islamic Development Bank/ Transition Fund for Yemen” and consultant with AECOM International Development Europe. Overall, Mr. Hussein take significant role as trainer with UN Staff College on UN Catalytic Support to South-South & Triangular Cooperation in Implementing the 2030 Agenda and as a broker for SSC. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Philosophy and a Higher Diploma in diplomatic studies from the University of Khartoum, both in Sudan. He also obtained a master’s degree in international politics from European Center for International Researches & Strategies-CERIS, Brussels, Belgium.
