
Alexander Kiberu is a highly accomplished technical and operational leader in Program Management, Agriculture, Food Security, Nutrition, Livelihoods (FSL), Grant writing, and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), with over 20 years of experience designing and managing humanitarian, recovery, and development programs in some of the world’s most fragile and crisis-affected contexts. His expertise spans nutrition-sensitive programming, climate resilience, economic empowerment, and systems strengthening across diverse geographies including Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, South Sudan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sudan, Nigeria, and Uganda. He has successfully led and coordinated large-scale, multi-sectoral programs and consortia, managing portfolios of up to USD 43 million annually, and overseeing teams of 200+ staff. Alexander has worked with a broad range of institutional donors, including BHA/USAID, OFDA, FFP, BPRM, FCDO, ECHO, EU, SIDA, SDC, GAC, GFFO, DEVCO, CDCS, BMZ, UNICEF, WFP, OCHA, AFD, and the Royal Norwegian Embassy. Recognized for his ability to blend technical rigor with operational agility, Alexander excels at strategic planning, cross-sectoral coordination, and delivering integrated, high-impact programming in complex and insecure environments. He has played a central role in cross-border humanitarian responses, policy dialogue, and multi-stakeholder partnerships, consistently ensuring program quality, donor compliance, and localization. His leadership is marked by a commitment to innovation, resilience building, and delivering sustainable solutions in the face of protracted crises and climate-related challenges.
