Alexandra Begle is an international development professional with ten years of experience. Alexandra is a self-starter; during college she founded and served as President of The Nwagni Project, a student organization that raised over $25,000 to build an elementary school in Cameroon.
Alexandra is driven by her belief in the power of the human spirit. She recently joined the mid-sized non-profit organization of the International Youth Foundation, inspired by their flagship intervention, a Passport To Success (PTS) curriculum teaching life-skills to youth addressing the skills-gap. She has become a certified trainer of PTS, and serves as the Operations Manager for a portfolio of programs in Morocco and Algeria.
Prior to working at IYF, Alexandra worked for Development Alternatives Incorporated, a large USAID contractor, learning alongside industry experts how best to implement development programs in challenging environments given restrictive donor regulations and ambitiously designed projects. During her 5 year tenure she worked as an Assistant and Project Associate at headquarters before moving to the field in the role of Operations & Compliance Specialist. She spent 14 months working on a Parliamentary Strengthening Program based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and then returned to headquarters to contribute to a centralized project management unit delivering training, designing system upgrades and rolling out company wide policy and organizational updates.
Alexandra has professional fluency in French.
Field experience includes Baltimore, MD USA, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, El Salvador, Haiti, Kenya, Morocco, Mozambique and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
