Amelia Siamomua

Ms Amelia Kinahoi Siamomua has been a development practitioner and specialist for more than 36 years. She provides a unique perspective to sustainable development in small island developing states at international, regional and national levels. Her expertise are in social, economic and political development maximizing performance, results, conflict resolution in developing countries. During her service with the United Nations and the Commonwealth Secretariat, she gained significant kno of the realm of foreign policy international affairs; inter-governmental processes and worked closely with diplomats in New York and London, and leaders and officials throughout the foreign affairs community. For 20 years (2001-2020) of her long professional career, Amelia has served in senior capacities at international level (with the United Nations, CARE International, and the Commonwealth Secretariat) providing technical and advisory services to developing countries in the areas of sustainable development, economic and social policies and programmes, gender and development, and national planning and monitoring for a number of small island developing states. She was a key member of a Task Force that provided technical papers and advice during the Post-2015 Agenda leading to the adoption of the Samoa Pathway for SIDS in 2014.
