I was headhunted to join the Maghreb Economic Forum (MEF), a Swiss-Tunisian Think-and-do-tank, acting as the Deputy Secretary General/Director in November 2015. Recently and as the organization has been rapidly growing, I have been focusing more on leading all development, fundraising and external communication. As a strong believer in growth mindset and being conscious of what it entails to lead in a VUCA world, I have embarked on pursuing an International Executive MBA at ESMT Berlin (graduation date is April 2019). Currently commuting between two cities: Berlin and Tunis, with lots of travels around the globe!
I am an activist, former educationist and expert in founding and establishing socially-minded start-ups. Currently based in Tunis, I originally hail from Gabes in Tunisia’s south, where my work with local activist networks and rights-focussed projects at the time of the 2011 revolution saw me become a respected advocate and force for change.
In May 2012 I founded and was President of Organisation Volonté et Citoyenneté (Will and Citizenship Organization), a youth-led, post-Revolution NGO promoting the importance of civil society, social entrepreneurship and human rights. I was nominated to participate in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) in the US, and was one of four Tunisian delegates to work for the US Congress, in the office of Congresswoman Betty McCollum - and was subsequently appointed Visiting Scholar at the Institute of the Study of Human Rights (ISHR) at Columbia University in New York City.
