Andre Pinheiro is a second-year graduate student in Int'l Development at Georgetown University, with a particular focus on investments in emerging markets, impact investing, innovative finance, and social entrepreneurship. In 2016, Andre was the President of the Georgetown Anti-Poverty Society, and organized the Tech & Dev Forum, the Gender and Dev Forum, and a series of other events connecting the student body to leading practitioners in the field. Originally from Sao Paulo, Andre is fluent in Portuguese as well as Spanish, English, German and French. He currently works with the World Bank on the WeMENA project, which aims to support and train 200 women-led social enterprises across the Middle East and North Africa. Prior to the World Bank, Andre worked with the Innovative Finance Team at The Rockefeller Foundation, looking for grantmaking opportunities to fund researchers and companies creating new financial mechanisms with the potential to channel billions for development.
