Summary

Over 25 years experience working in development cooperation projects, the majority of which has been spent working with mini hydropower support and development in Indonesia. Between 1991 – 1996 he was the team leader for a micro hydro technology transfer project financed by the GTZ German Appropriate Technology Exchange (GATE) in Bandung, Indonesia. In 1996, he joined ENTEC AG as a project manager and between 1996 – 1999 worked on a number of short-term assignments in the MHP sector, mostly in Sri Lanka and Indonesia. From 2000 to 2006 he was team leader of the GTZ Mini Hydro Power Project (MHPP) where he oversaw the development and expansion of the project’s involvement in the Indonesian MHP sector. In addition to his position as MHPP team leader, he also worked as a short-term consultant for a MHP technology transfer initiatives in Ladakh, Northern India and for the National Solidarity Programme (NSP), Afghanistan where he was an advisor to the technical unit responsible for MHP policy, planning and implementation. Between 2006 - 2009, he was team leader for the Indonesian Energizing Development (EnDev) project financed under a joint Dutch – German agreement. Between 2009 – 2012 he was team leader of the Technical Support Unit (TSU) project that provided technical assistance in the planning, design and construction of 150 community based micro hydropower projects throughout 8 provinces of Indonesia.
