Summary

Andualem A. Mengistu holds 2-post graduate degrees in "International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid (MDICH)" and in "Public health (MPH)". He also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Public health (certified public health professional). He has more than 20 years professional experience both in humanitarian and public health sector which includes MNCH, nutrition, emergency, One Health approach, Mental health, youth health, HIV/AIDS, Immunization, health communication, promotion, and health project management. He has hands-on experience in Ethiopia and Afghanistan(all corners) on Strengthening relationship with local authorities including FMOH. Currently he is working for VSF-S as One health Advisor. Also worked for CCM-Ethiopia as country health advisor in all aspects of health interventions which includes MNCH, youth and adolescent health, mental health, emergency response in the IDPs setting and one health but not limited. He worked for PATH-E as Regional communication officer in the area of Immunization (EPI) seconded to Oromia regional health bureau (ORHB). He was working for UNICEF as polio communication/operation specialist in Afghanistan based in Kabul, also roved around all corners of Afghanistan. Before UNICEF he rejoined IRC (International Rescue Committee) as assistant health coordinator to manage all the health project activities both in the refugee camps and local hosting communities; as “Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS Program Officer” . He Served Johns Hopkins University (JHU TSEHAI) in the capacity of STI-Project Coordinator targeting MARPs by opening new confidential clinics in partnership with Family Guidance Association Ethiopia (FGAE) and Health communication Partnership (HCP). He also worked for Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) as Program Coordinator in its Community Based Family Planning Project. Andualem progressively worked for USAID funded AED project "Health Communication Partnership" (HCP) as “Training and Community Mobilization Officer” His core competencies include: - Has high knowledge of the local/international health system and context as he has been involved UN-health cluster meetings, regional task forces and technical working group regular meetings - Do have capacity and knowledge in data collection and research for being closely involved in different kinds of surveys(feasibility, KABP survey, baseline, midterm and end line surveys on MNCH, AI, HIV/AIDS, RH. -He has involved in different kinds of projects based operational researched and data analysis. - Technically and managerial skills in providing supporting to field level staffs in developing database tracking sheets and proper recording/reporting
