
I have 25 years of experience as an independent consultant in different urban and rural contexts across the African continent and beyond. I have worked for diverse organizations from UN agencies and national government departments to international and local NGOs. These include Food and Agriculture Organization (Zimbabwe, Africa regional office, Myanmar and Rome); World Food Programme (Zimbabwe); UN Women (Southern Africa Region); Christian Aid (Zimbabwe); Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (Zimbabwe); Welthungerhilfe (Zimbabwe, Malawi and South Sudan); Danish Refugee Council (Nigeria), Europe Aid (Rwanda), Save the Children (Myanmar); Norwegian People’s Aid (South Sudan); Oxfam (Zimbabwe). Most of this work has centred on supporting development agents, policy makers and implementors and target communities with respect to strengthening resilience to climate change impacts, improving livelihoods, food security, nutrition and natural resources management. In recent years much of my work has centred on food system transformation. I have excellent written, verbal and visual communications skills and analytical abilities enabling production of high quality reports, training materials and other documentation. I am an accomplished facilitator with a strong track record in capacity building of multiple stakeholders. I am an experienced researcher capable of conducting a wide range of formative and evaluative research providing evidence-based learning and comprehensive, practical recommendations.
