Summary

Anne's professional passion is working with farmers to resolve water resource and waste management concerns. She holds a PhD in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Purdue University (West Lafayette Indiana, USA). While there, she advanced the understanding of the linkages between arid land water management, food security, and rural sanitation solutions while working across the West Bank, Tunisia, and Qatar. She served as the co-founder and postdoctoral researcher in charge of Purdue Engineering’s Innovation for International Development (I2D) Lab. In that role, she was an invited expert on rural sanitation issues to the USAID-supported Farmer-to-Farmer program with Universidad de Los Llanos in Colombia, and served as Academic Director for the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders -- a business and entrepreneurship-focused experience sponsored by the US Department of State. She got her start in science policy and diplomacy working on international scientific engagement as a Mirzayan Fellow at The National Academies. Anne is a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow in USAID's Middle East Regional Cooperation (MERC) Program, and recently supported the US Department of State with recommendations on inventions on the Palestinian wastewater sector as Regional Embassy Science Fellow for Israel, Jordan, and the Palestinian Territories.
