I am a physician and global health professional passionate about working in the area of health systems strengthening, and contributing towards achieving equitable universal health coverage in resource-poor settings. Through several years of diverse working engagements in India and the US, I have grown to appreciate the need to address inequities in health outcomes through foundational changes in the health system, rather than adopting siloed approaches. My current doctoral dissertation examines an ongoing health system strengthening program in Bihar, India (Gates Foundation-Govt. of Bihar collaboration), and this experience has re-affirmed my faith on the importance of co-ownership of development goals between a government and its partners, and the value of investments to develop high-quality data systems and improve quality of care through focused training of providers, especially the front-line health workers. I have a strong track record of working successfully with diverse cross-functional teams in professional settings, conducting data-driven project management, developing actionable evidence-based solutions to a wide range of clinical/public health problems, and facilitating strong stakeholder buy-in. I have successfully published more than 20 articles in, and completed more than 25 peer-reviews for reputed peer-reviewed journals. I am looking forward to finding meaningful roles where I can leverage my training and experience and remain deeply engrossed in critical systems thinking, in a quest for transforming health systems towards more efficient, equitable and sustainable outcomes.
