Senegal

Summary

Senegalese clinical epidemiologist, I had a 10 year experience on measles and malaria field epidemiology at Institut Pasteur and IRD before taking a sabatical leave for a master degree and a PhD at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London. With Prof Brian Greenwood, Dr Rob Newman and other collaborators, I led a group to develop the concept of seasonal malaria chemoprevention that has enormously decreased now the burden of the disease in sub Saharan Africa. I have coordinated several field operational researches in Senegal, thanks to my excellent relationships with Prof Awa Marie Coll-Seck (Minister of Health) and her collaborators.
