Barbara Weightman

I conduct learning needs assessments, equality impact assessments, and develop curricula, assessment criteria, learning materials and teaching practices, open learning centers and online learning platforms which are suitable for students in Higher, Further, Technical, Adult and Community educational settings. I recently completed a PGDE and a Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy, UK.

I have experience of course and materials development, assessment and teaching in a wide range of institutional settings in the UK and Zimbabwe. Having worked with a variety of examining boards as an assessor and Cognate Group Leader., I am familiar with a broad spectrum of administrative and assessment practices, internal assessment processes and external accreditation requirements.

My specialist teaching subjects include English for Business Communication, English as a Foreign Language, English as a Second Language, English for Academic Purposes, English Literature and English for Specific Purposes.

As well as teaching, I have trained and mentored teachers in effective learning techniques.
