A consultant/researcher with specialised knowledge and 20 years of experience in disaster risk reduction and management, coastal/urban resilience and climate change adaptation, and coastal/civil engineering; in particular, in coastal adaptation and resilience, integrated coastal zone management, ecosystem-based adaptation and nature-based solutions, with significant experience in SIDS and LAC, EAP and AFR Regions, built on a broad civil/coastal engineering background. Her work has informed policy and decision-making in different areas around the world. Among others, her current areas of work include disaster risk reduction and management; climate change adaptation; coastal adaptation and resilience; integrated coastal zone management planning and coastal policy development; multi-hazard evaluation and mapping, the design of climate resilient solutions, specifically, structural (hard and soft – nature-based) and non-structural mitigation measures, and the social aspects of resilience (e.g. gender, vulnerable population, livelihoods etc.), for tropical cyclone, erosion and flood hazards.
