As an Associate Investigator at The National Institutes of Health, I conduct clinical research on vascular thrombosis and inflammation, aiming to understand how the immune system, blood factors, and vascular networks interact and lead to vascular diseases. I am also a Senior Advisor to the Master of Public Health Program at the University of Lynchburg, where I provide strategic guidance to a robust, all-encompassing curriculum designed to enhance health outcomes globally. Additionally, I serve as the Board Chair at Stepping Stones for Global Development, a nonprofit organization that collaborates with community leaders, healthcare professionals, educators, and organizations to provide sustainable improvements in health and education in resource-scarce communities. I have a diverse and extensive background in clinical medicine, public health, global health, and health education. I am a former White House Medical Officer who earned the Presidential Service Badge in 2020 for exemplary performance and infectious disease mitigation strategies at the highest level of government. I am a 2022 Tillman Scholar and a member of The Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. I hold a Doctor of Medical Science from the University of Lynchburg, a Master of Public Health from The George Washington University, and a Graduate Certificate in Global Health and Global Health Engagement from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. I am also a certified and licensed doctorally prepared physician assistant with multiple international presentations and engagements.
