Bikorwomuhangi (Biko) Evarist works as the Program Director with the Aga Khan Foundation’s Coastal Rural Support Program Tanzania. He has 18 years’ cumulative experience in program and portfolio management especially in agricultural value chains, markets working for the poor approaches (M4p) designing of incentives for different players along the different chains in addition to unlocking potentials for the different players along the different agricultural value chains. Biko also possess skills in financial oversight, human resources and administration management, logistics and operations skills, leadership, teaching, training, developing, implementing and monitoring and evaluating a wide range of programs. Biko’s work has mainly been in East Africa and the great lakes region across the countries of Tanzania, Burundi, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Congo, Ethiopia and South Sudan. Evarist has excellent skills in management, organizing, educating, and motivating groups to learn and to develop economic stability. He possesses a natural inclination to interdisciplinarity, a cross cultural mindset and a cross sectoral experience with the cosmopolitan attraction for diversity. Evarist is driven by a strong sense of purpose and commitment to make change happen and posses a keen eye to identify emerging opportunities and ‘at the edge' trends. He possesses a Master’s degree in Environment and Sustainability from London South Bank University - UK, a Master of Science Degree in Business majoring in Economics and Management from University of Florida in Gainesville - USA, a Post-Graduate Diploma in African Studies from Catholic University of East Africa - Nairobi Kenya, A bachelor of Education Degree from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota - Winona USA, a Diploma in Religious Studies from Tangaza University College Catholic University of East African and an advanced Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education (curriculum development and instructional methods from Kyambogo University in Kampala Uganda. Besides English, Biko is fluent in Kiswahili, Runyakitara, Luganda, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi and a number of other East and Central African languages. He also has a working knowledge of Dinka and Amharic.
