Summary

Bola Garbadeen has been working and consulting for over 20 years across East, West and Southern Africa in the areas of financial inclusion, rural microfinance and agricultural value chain development. Bola’s financial inclusion experience spans the setting up of new MFIs/MFBs and financial Cooperatives, design, implementation and management of microfinance projects, providing technical support to Microfinance apex organizations; agricultural value chain development including mapping, product development, climate chain impact profiling and climate change mitigation strategies, as well as capacity building and training of financial inclusion and value chain actors. It also includes capacity development of farmers groups, agribusinesses and Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLA), financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, market information and linkages to finance, market and technology. Bola also consulted for the UNDP (Capacity Building Project) in Somalia, World Bank in Kenya, DFID and DAI in Ethiopia, Aga Khan in Zanzibar among others. Bola is currently the Managing Partner of MicroResources Development Partners Ltd, Nigeria.
