A Broadcast Media Leader with 25 years of cross media experience in helping traditional and digital organizations navigate and manage a diverse range of business challenges. My core experience is in Radio, Digital Media, TV, OTT - Video on Demand and Advertising. Bulk of my broadcasting career was spent working for the largest broadcaster in Africa - the SABC (South African Broadcasting Corporation) where I was General Manager of SABC Radio, leading 19 radio stations (15 PBS and 3 PCBS), in charge of 19 station managers and over 500 staff. My expertise covers the spectrum of Mergers and Acquisitions & Restructuring, Media Consulting, Strategic Communications and Technology. Been exposed to working for a public listed companies (NYSE) and State-Owned Enterprises of more than 6,000 professionals with annual revenues more than R.8 billion, with offices located in over 30 countries. Experience building and negotiating commercial representation partnerships with China and Africa in the DSP space, music streaming i.e.) Boomplay. My television and OTT Video On Demand broadcast experience lies in content sales, licensing and distribution working across Sub Saharan Africa. Very experienced and passionate about opening new markets in Africa having lead territory expansion missions to Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana. Knowledgeable in a variety of digital media marketing and traditional brand communication tactics, strategies and sectors. Accustomed to high level of responsibilities for all aspects related to international and national aspects of corporate reputation including communications strategy, media relations, stakeholder engagement, thought leaderships and issues management. Pragmatic and result oriented, I am determined to build market presence in the next company I join.
