Daniel Mgalla, a Tanzania Citizen, is the Manager, Data, Monitoring and Evaluation at IITA. He has in-depth experience in leading the development, implementation and institutionalization of monitoring, evaluation and learning (ME&L) systems at international program in project levels. His area of interest is in agricultural research, Nutrition, Livelihood, Youth employment, education, HIV/AIDS systems strengthening with respect to performance management, results-based management, theory of change, ME&L, impact assessment and web-based management information systems (MIS). He holds a Masters of arts in Monitoring and Evaluation with specialization in M&E systems design, impact evaluation, Data management from the open university of Tanzania in 2016. He has over 8 years working experience in several organizations in developing countries as an International M&E Specialist, Data Manager, Database. In the course of which he worked with local and international organizations such as Precision Air services PLC, International Rescue Committee, John Snow Inc, Catholic Relief services and now IITA in Eastern and Southern Africa, Prior to joining IITA he worked as a MEAL manager at Catholic Relief services where he was responsible for leading the MEAL and ICT4D for the accelerating stunting reduction and child care development program in Tanzania
