Summary

As communication and campaign strategist in Nairobi, Kenya, David Amira brings together more than a decade of experience in strategic communications and program management. To date, David has worked with non-profits, tech start-ups, and blue-chip organizations across the African continent. Some of these include Children's Investment Fund Foundation, Purpose Campaigns, KFC, Nokia Nigeria, SNV, GIZ, and Johnson & Johnson to name a few. In addition to his experience in communications strategy, David has also worked alongside some of the continent’s grandest festivals, including Cape Town International Jazz Fest and the Cape Town World Music Festival. In the effort to contribute to the continent’s festival sector, he introduced Kenya’s first Mardi Gras and helped in the development of Capital FM’s Koroga Festival. David graduated from the University of Cape Town with a BSocSc. in Economics and Industrial Sociology, thereafter completing a postgraduate degree in Advertising and Marketing Communication Management at the Red & Yellow Creative School of Business in Cape Town, South Africa. When he’s not spending time with on his multiple DIY projects, David can be found out on a campsite, drawing, or brainstorming with Nairobi’s creative community.
