I am a curious, analytical and passionate systems thinker with 17 years of experience working in education, non-profits and private startups focusing in space, artificial intelligence/machine learning, cybersecurity, computational physics, database-driven web applications and mobile/SMS applications. I gravitate towards “jack-of-all-trades” roles where I can contribute systems architecture and design, scale testing, project and change management (particularly agile/scrum methodology), recruiting, curriculum design, and partner outreach. I have four years of experience each working in East and West Africa, and half a year of experience in Latin America. I hold a Master’s Degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning, as well as B.S. degrees in Physics and Computer Science. In my current role at Omitron and previously at NS2, my work has had a focus on astrodynamics, geospatial and big data challenges. As Director of Technology at the UNF Foundation, I established the Open Source Center program, managing $1M+ in grants for prominent open source projects in the development sector, fostered strategic partnerships with other organizations in the ecosystem, played an advisory role in the technology aspects of other UNF programs, and managed an in-house team of engineers to develop custom products and provide in-kind support to other open source projects.
