Debasish Bhattacharjee has more than ten years of experience in designing and managing WASH projects, private sector engagement and market development projects along with training and knowledge management in Bangladesh. Currently, he is serving Grameen Intel Social Business Ltd (a joint collaboration between Grameen Trust, BD and Intel Corporation, USA) as Business Development Manager.
He was the Manager, private Sector Engagement of International Development Enterprises (iDE) for the design and management of Private Sector engagement of the market development projects managed and consulted by iDE. He was engaged as Manager, Private Sector engagement for the CSISA MI project funded by USAID and implemented by CIMMYT and iDE. In PROOFS project (funded by EKN), he has provided technical support for private Sector engagement. He has also served as the key technical person for private sector engagement for several market development projects implemented by iDE, Bangladesh. Apart from these long-term involvements, he has been actively taking part in numerous value chain analysis, M4P project designing, baseline survey, project evaluation research as a technical person.
He is expert in handling different donor driven projects and can work under different work environment.
Partners that he managed directly include ACI, PRAN-RFL, Metal Pvt Ltd, Lalteer, Syngenta in Bangladesh, e-Kutir in India and Nepal, Agrico in Netherlands, He also worked closely with development partners like, World Vision Bangladesh, BLUEGOLD, RRF, JCF, YPSA, GUK in Bangladesh.
He has earned his B.Sc and M.Sc degree from the Department of Environmental Science of Jahangirnagar University. He has also completed his MBA from Bangladesh Open University, a Commonwealth Program jointly operated in 17 countries. He has successfully completed two PG (Dip) course on Environmental Governance and Water & Flood Management from BRAC University and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
