Through my three roles within the United Nations (UN) system, I have developed a unique perspective on global governance. I assisted in preparing official meetings and reports and interfaced with local leaders and UN staff to address vulnerable populations within the criminal justice system and HIV treatment facilities. Among my tasks, I provided input on ethnic, cultural, and gender perspectives in the context of drug abuse and the prison system. I have acquired strong communication skills in advocating for human rights. I learned about the reality of vulnerable populations through my work with child victims of sexual assault, juvenile offenders, and victims of natural disasters. As a psychologist and research assistant, I designed survey questionnaires, and contributed to the development of more effective assessment measures and public policy referrals. I also focused my Graduate studies on Latin American socioeconomic development.
