Divya brings over 20 years of professional experience in development, communications and journalism. She has led and supported communications for the World Bank on strategic knowledge initiatives and more recently, for multi-donor climate trust funds. For the WHO, she has served as communications specialist during the COVID-19 pandemic, led communications for events and product development for high-level advocacy on health emergency management, including at the 77th World Health Assembly. Previously, as the India coordinator for the UN Millennium Campaign (UNDP), she advocated and campaigned for accelerated achievement of the MDGs with the government, media, civil society organizations and citizens. To meaningfully shape the SDGs and discourse from gender, civil society and Global South perspectives, she has authored reports for UN Women and a civil society coalition. As a journalist, Divya has reported extensively on contemporary development challenges aligned with the SDGs, won awards of excellence and served as a jury member for the UNFPA-supported Laadli Media Awards. She has an MS in Journalism from Columbia University, New York and an MA in International Relations from John Hopkins University, Washington D.C.
