More than 25 years of experience developing health, disaster risk reduction, institutional strengthening, shelter, capacity building, and water and sanitation programs in complex development environments. Program and Project Management including project design, start-up, work planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, resource management, and reporting. Team Building and Management, applying collaborative management to create systems and processes to oversee operations, finances, and human resources in culturally diverse environments. Capacity Building and Training; increasing team effectiveness and improving overall response to general health, maternal and child health (MCH), vaccinations, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) issues in development. Partnership Development: assembling strategic alliances with USAID, national and international Red Cross societies, governments, and donors to strengthen benefits and to develop business; over $1 million a year. Emergency Response and Planning: providing health and housing aid to those affected by disasters such as Hurricane Mitch (1998) in Nicaragua, the Peru earthquake (2007), the Haiti earthquake (2010), the Chile earthquake (2010); and by establishing risk reduction programs in Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, and Peru. Strategic Planning: applying a multidisciplinary approach to capturing, developing, and sharing best practices and lessons learned to effectively achieve health and disaster preparedness and relief objectives. Organizational Development: integrating evidence-based research into managing processes and systems to take advantage of available resources, often developing effective dynamic responses to extremely fluid and chaotic conditions.
