QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY Extensive international development experience in senior-level leadership roles that include five years as Country Director for a US NGO based in Indonesia, four years serving as a Foreign Service Contracting Officer Representative for the USAID Mission in Afghanistan, and one year as the USAID Development Advisor, embedded with the 82nd Airborne US Army Unit in Western Afghanistan. Currently, I serve as the Director of Administration and Operations for the Henry Jackson Foundation / Walter Reed Program in Nigeria. I have also taught remedial reading and writing at Austin Community College to international students for six years, on an evening, part-time basis. I am a consumer of new languages and maintain fluency in Bahasa Indonesia, Afghan Dari, and Spanish. I am currently studying Hausa. Stateside, I have extensive director-level management experience in Texas State Government, including Director, Executive Director, and Deputy Commissioner leadership roles in various state agencies. I served as a registered Lobbyist at the Texas State Legislature for a 5,000-member Education Association, and was elected to Chair the Small State Agency Task Force two years by fellow agency heads to represent their issues and concerns at legislative hearings.
