My experience in evidence based decision making, data analytics/evaluation, building inclusive environments, program/training development, public and personal relations, strategic communication, fundraising, contract negotiation, and coalition building in my current position in the LSU Division of Inclusion, Civil Rights & Title IX (ICRTX) and in my previous work experience, where I routinely and closely interacted with universities, museums, and corporate partners from across the globe, has given me valuable insights and skills across multiple fields. My leadership responsibilities have been highly varied in previous and current positions. As the event manager for the three largest venues in the French Quarter, I gained experience in planning and evaluating events and outreach, managing private, corporate, and public partnerships, and fundraising through special events. Moreover, these experiences have allowed for enrichment through personal relations working with public figures, historians, musicians, artists, and students. Upon taking a position at LSU working for Louisiana 4-H, the largest youth service organization in the United States, I was able to learn the intricacies of higher education unseen by the students of a university through recruitment strategies, budgetary constraints, interdisciplinary programs, and the direct relationship between politics and Higher Education Administration. As the VP of Membership for FOTCPM, my efforts tripled our membership through leading the development of community outreach programs like the successful Thirsty Thursday lectures and Junior Council Initiative. Working for the LSU Office of Diversity and the Division of ICRTX has been both the most rewarding and largest period of growth in my life so far. I have learned so much about who I am and the impact I can have on others, reinforcing my knowledge that careful planning can lay a good foundation for effective and positive changes to empower the current and next generation with access to the knowledge and skills needed to define and realize their own success. Earning my Masters in Public Administration and Masters in Applied Research, Measurement, and Evaluation and becoming a PhD candidate for the Higher Education Leadership program and an ASPA Founders' Fellow demonstrates my drive, excellent time management skills, and a deep understanding of subject matter in my fields. Additionally, in my international travels, both for business and for pleasure, I have built and maintained relationships with professionals on all levels across many different fields.
