Erick has risen over the ranks from owing to his commitment to the betterment of human well-being as well as his valuable and diverse skills and qualifications. He uses monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) principles to hone humanitarian and development efforts to save lives, reduce poverty, conserve ecosystems and help people progress beyond assistance.
He brings along 18 years of project and knowledge management (including research, monitoring, evaluation and learning) experience coupled with an MSc degree in Biometry (Applied Statistics in Health and Agriculture), Post-Graduate Diploma in Project Management, Higher Diploma in Management Information Systems as well as an ongoing Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. He is keen in providing data driven solutions with the use of databases (MS Access, SQL, EpiInfo), mobile data collection and management (ODK, Survey123, Perseus Survey Solutions) and analysis (MS Excel, Stata, SPSS, R, Tableau, Power BI), qualitative analysis (NVIVO) and spatial analysis (ArcGIS) to ensure project success.
Erick’s experience spans humanitarian and development programming including health, food security, environment, governance and education. He has worked with/supported government ministries, universities and research organizations, non-governmental organizations as well as Regional Economic Commissions (COMESA, EAC and IGAD) in data management and analysis, research and in setting up MEL systems that promote knowledge management, learning, decision making, capacity development and reporting.
