I see myself as an accomplished lecturer in Strategic Management, Quality, Marketing and Management where I have vast experience in lecturing at postgraduate, undergraduate and diploma levels. Since 1989 when I started lecturing at the University of Zimbabwe I have always made significant contributions in these areas. My contribution in these areas has seen me gain a strong reputation in the University and in industry. I have often been the Acting Chairman and ultimately got an offer for the post of Chairman for the Department of Business Studies in January 2002 and only turned it down as I was focused on relocating to the UK. This is evidence I can lead a group and that I have so much to offer.
I have been a lecturer in Strategic Management, Marketing, Quality and Management in more than 15 institutions on a part-time basis other than my full-time job I always pursued with the University of Zimbabwe. My part-time lectureships include the Catholic University of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Open University, The Open University (UK). I have had diverse teaching in Marketing, Management and Quality. I have been an external examiner for Marketing, Quality, Production and Business Administration with the Zimbabwe Institute of Management, The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and for the Southern Africa Institute of Marketing where I was also a Councillor and examiner responsible for education and curriculum development.
I have handled more than 200 assignments as a management consultant with Strategic Management, Quality, Marketing and Management being key areas. Assignments have involved strategization, problem-solving, research, training in the various aspects of the disciplines. This diverse experience has given me breadth and depth in my understanding of practices and perception of the Strategic Management, Quality and Marketing disciplines. Through my consultancy experience I have managed to improve the bottom lines for a number of organisations which still retain me as their consultant. The size of companies I have consulted for is largely medium to large organisations.
My education and passion for Strategic Management, Management, Quality and Marketing drives me and there is all to see for what I have achieved. I hold three degrees – a Bachelor of Business Studies with a Marketing bias, an MBA (Marketing), an MSc Information Systems and a Certificate in In-Career Training for International Marketing. Lecturing on the MBA over 10 years, head of the Bachelor of Management Group, Vice-President–Southern Africa Institute of Marketing, head of Marketing, Marketing Researcher and a consultant to multitudes of organisations, Acting Chair for the Department. The diversity of my education is convenient to versatility in looking at issues and presenting arguments.
I always cherish the opportunity to take up lectureship, Consultancy and Research in Strategic Management, Quality, Management, International Business and Marketing. It is this passion which makes me feel I can take up this challenge successfully with its demands for management and marketing expertise.
