Summary

Mr. Koranteng currently worked as a Company Agribusiness Advisor and Program Manager for the Cassava Agribusiness and Small-scale Processing Project, (CASH-P), at Premium Foods Limited, a leading food Processing company in Ghana. Prior to this, Mr Koranteng was the Program Director for the USAID, GAMSAP-ADVANCE Program. The Ghana Adopted Maize Seed Program, (GAMSAP) is a four-year, four million dollar Global Development Alliance, (GDA) initiative of the United States of America International Development, (USAID) and Dupont’s Pioneer Seed Corporation of USA. GAMSAP which is supporting the upgrade of the seed industry and introduction of more resilient hybrids is being implemented as part of the Agricultural Development and Value Chain Enhancement, (ADVANCE) Project of the USAID by ACDIVOCA. From 2009, Mr. Koranteng continued to work for ACDI/VOCA as; Country Director, USAID Farmer-to-Farmer Program, as Training Manager and Head of the Knowledge management Team, Commodity Team Leader, Acting Program Manager of the Ghana Grains Council, and as a Technical Leader for the maize, rice and soybean agribusiness initiatives of the USAID's Feed the Future, Agricultural Development and Value Chain Enhancement, (ADVANCE), Program. Mr. Koranteng is a highly qualified program manager and team leader with over 24 years of experience managing programs from donors such as USAID, ActionAid, DFID, the European Union, ChristianAid, the World Bank and various other sponsors. Prior to joining ACDI/VOCA, Mr. Koranteng managed a DFID-funded integrated food security program in northern Ghana from 2001 until its successful closeout in 2005. In addition to demonstrated leadership and management skills, Mr. Koranteng has a strong background in development programming on issues including the right to education, food rights, right to life in the face of conflicts, emergencies and diseases, including HIV/AIDS and women’s rights. He has extensive experience heading large multi-sector programs and ensuring the use of proper data collection and reporting methods, as well maintaining program efficiency, goal-oriented implementation, and financial management. Mr. Koranteng managed various field stations of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, (MOFA) as District Director of Agriculture and training officer and rose to the national posting of the sensitive position of studio manager for the televised productions from the information support unit of MOFA. Mr. Koranteng received his B.Sc. Degree in Agriculture, concurrent with a Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, and his M.Sc. in Agriculture from the University of Reading in the UK. He speaks and writes fluently in English, Twi and Fante, and has a basic working knowledge of French, Dagaare and Ga.
