Erwin Alvarez

I have an eleven-year track record working for international development organizations, focused in rural development and agricultural lending systems and recently in workforce development. I am a project manager and also have more than four years of experience in the private sector and in management positions for agribusiness enterprises. I hold an MBA, a Master in Finance and BSc. in Agronomy. I consider myself to possess exceptional talents for analysis, planning, institutional networking and coaching. I bring strong work ethics and an entrepreneurial spirit to the work place. The project I´m currently managing is pilot to promote employment and entrepreneurship, which I have developed from the Design Phase. I dominate the value chain approach, with hands on experience in high value crops, coffee, energy crops and basic grains. I´ve also worked with agribusiness, artisan foods and rural tourism. With every experience, I developed abilities for networking, strengthen organizations and create alliances among relevant actors and grass roots. In Agriculture Lending Systems, I´ve managed and created portfolios up to $12 million, mostly for small and micro loans. Created innovative products for agriculture lending and tools to design specific crop loans. Some of these tools have been replicated internationally and have become case studies published by several organizations.
