Achievements:

Over my time with World Vision, I played a key role in building and developing the evidence base for health/nutrition and Maternal Newborn & Child Heath programming approaches. I also played a significant advisory role for the Operational Research looking at the impact health interventions and program models across 4 countries (Zambia, Kenya, Cambodia & Guatemala).

I have pioneered the use of Value for Money (VfM) assessment for international development interventions using Social Return on Investment (SROI) approach. This has helped World Vision clearly articulate to the donors community the impact of its projects and programs and show what value for money their financial support is generating.

2008-2012. Led the research & development, piloting and scale up of a mobile solution, which allows World Vision to use smartphones to collect in real-time GPS tagged high quality, valid and reliable at low cost complex household survey data. This system has a module for humanitarian relief & emergency context to gather rapid evidence for decision making within 48 hours of the onset of a disaster. The solution is now be deployed for all DM&E functions in many countries where World Vision operates including (Mozambique, Zambia, Mauritania, Uganda, Mexico, South Africa, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kenya, Haiti, among many others)

2010-2012. Led World Vision’s research & development, piloting and scale up of a mobile health (mHealth) solution, which allows World Vision deliver high impact maternal newborn & child health interventions through community health workers by extending primary healthcare from health facilities to the households. The solution mHealth is in use in, Guatemala, Zambia, Cambodia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Sierra Leone)

2012 Received the 2012 most influential African Australian award for my outstanding work in the international development and humanitarian sector
