Gerald is a monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) expert with over 10 years of combined experience in development practice. In the past 8 years, he has been engaged solely in MEL activities working for several agribusiness focused development programmes. Prior to his current role as the MEL Director for USAID/Feed the Future funded Nigeria Agribusiness Investment Activity, he managed the monitoring and results measurement system for DFID funded Market Development Programme in the Northern Ghana. Before Ghana, he led the monitoring and evaluation team in HarvestPlus Nigeria Biofortification Program funded by DFID, USAID and BMGF. Prior to HarvestPlus, he worked as the monitoring and results measurement officer for DFID funded Market Development Programme, operated by DAI. Gerald is an expert in the design and implementation of a gender sensitive, results-based monitoring and evaluation system; results measurement for market systems development programs; execution of baseline, outcome assessments and monitoring surveys; collaborating, learning and adapting (CLA) strategies; design and management of monitoring information systems for data intelligence, tracking of results and lessons learnt. He has a master’s degree in agricultural economics, 32 google citation counts in peer reviewed journals. He is a member of various associations including American Evaluation Association (AEA).
