Govinda ROKAYA

Govinda Rokaya is a sociologist with proven expertise in the areas of participatory planning, monitoring and evaluation. With more than 12 years of experience with government and non-government sector in Nepal including 9 years as SNV advisor, he has demonstrated skills in capacitating government, non-government, private sector and community organizations.

Govinda has successfully managed number of programmes with the partnership of UNDP, UKAID, WFP, IFAD and government of Nepal from 2005-2009 with SNV Nepal. During this time, he played pivotal role in capacitating the diverse range of stakeholders at the district and community level.

At present, ( from 2010) at the capacity of Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) advisor with SNV Nepal, Govinda has been leading number of assignments in Jumla and Mugu districts. His contribution in both the districts to increase access to sanitation and hygiene has been tremendously commended by all the actors involved. Govinda's endeavor in institutionalizing District and VDC level Coordination committees through regular coaching, mentoring and back up support has been admired by the internal and external evaluations as well.

Mr. Rokaya has demonstrated knowledge and skills on gender equity and social inclusion. He is dynamic in facilitation, presentation, team building and inter personal communication.
