
Greg Olson is an experienced international development specialist with extensive geographic experience in the Middle East, East Africa, and South Asia. In the Middle East, he has worked in Egypt, Yemen, the West Bank/Gaza, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and South Sudan. He has held senior management positions—including Chief of Party—on eight projects in transitional and post-conflict environments. His work has frequently been at the intersection of humanitarian assistance and sustainable development, with experience in livelihoods, agriculture, water and sanitation, education, governance, and community development. He also has significant expertise in contract and grant management, project start-up and close-out, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning. Mr. Olson is fluent in Arabic and holds an M.A. in Education from the American University in Cairo, an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, Arizona, and a B.A. from Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He currently resides in Cairo, Egypt.
