Greg Payne is the President and Principal Consultant at Emerging Market Enterprises (EME). Greg has over 15 years of consulting and operational experience in the private, public, and non-profit sectors, and is a highly-experienced practitioner in the fields of strategy, change management, and impact investing. At EME, Greg supports startup and early stage social enterprises in the for- and non-profit sectors as these organizations face challenges related to customer discovery, product/service development, market entry, and access to financing. Greg has experience living and working both in the US and internationally, and leverages his tri-sector network to facilitate effective collaboration on shared objectives. He recently spent three years living in Bogotá, Colombia, where he worked directly with entrepreneurs, small business owners, fund managers, and non-profits on challenges related to stimulating employment among the lower- and lower-middle-income population. In Washington, DC, he also recently worked to secure pay-for-success (PFS) funding for evidence-based initiatives ranging from teen pregnancy prevention to aging in place. Greg holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance and Social Entrepreneurship from Duke University, graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Anthropology from the University of Virginia, and is fluent in Spanish.
