Heather Ho is an international development practitioner with experience living and working in Southeast Asia, East Africa, and Canada including Global Affairs Canada (GAC). In 2013, she conducted refugee and migration research along the borders of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos with the National University of Singapore. She continued her work in Southeast Asia at a social enterprise in Malaysia while volunteering at a refugee education centre in Kuala Lumpur. In 2015, she began working with an NGO within the food security & livelihoods and volunteer management sector in Africa and Asia, funded by Global Affairs Canada. She actively volunteered in her community through newcomer and refugee assistance initiatives. In 2017, Heather moved to East Africa (Ethiopia) to work with an international development monitoring & evaluation consulting firm. Since then, she has worked at a transitional refugee housing community, and is currently working with Global Affairs Canada (GAC).
