Dr. Jean-Baptiste Guiard-Schmid is a specialist in Internal Medicine, Infectious & Tropical Diseases, and Public Health, with experience in Academic and UN positions. He has a sound international expertise in communicable diseases, health system strengthening and non-communicable diseases in Africa. His areas of expertise cover strategic planning, development, implementation, and monitoring & evaluation of health policies and programs (HIV, TB Malaria, hepatitis, RMNCAH, HSS an NCDs). Over the past 20 years, he has concentrated his efforts on the development and the coordination of a high quality Public Health African Technical Assistance at global, and national levels. Dr. Guiard-Schmid is putting a lot of energy into building the capacity of all stakeholder in the responses to epidemics (HIV, TB, Malaria, hepatitis, etc.) and in health system strengthening, including key and vulnerable populations. Citizen of Burkina Faso and France, he founded ICI-Sante in Ouagadougou in 2012, a private consulting firm which has become an African leader in Technical Assistance to drive innovative and sustainable Public Health solutions.
