* 30 years' work as a consultant focusing on evaluation, primarily on health and gender. * Evaluation expertise includes annual reviews, mid-term, final/summative evaluations, performance and impact evaluations, for e.g. USAID, DFID (now FCDO), Sida, UN Women and other multilaterals. Expert in qualitative, participatory, social and academic research and social, gender and power analyses. Expert also in programme design (e.g. Theories of Change, M&E frameworks, strategies and annual work plans). Comprehensive expertise and success in proposal and bid making. * Experienced in leading large multi-disciplinary teams, working as a team member and as a solo consultant. * Health expertise includes health systems strengthening, access to primary health care, community-level and civil society, public sector, national, regional and global initiatives linked to achievement of SDGs 3, 5 and 16. Very considerable expertise in SRHR, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health (MNCAH), HIV. Immunisation expert (e.g. for Gavi Independent Review Committee, DFID). * Gender expertise includes working on Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI) across health, education and gender-focused interventions. Prevention of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) is a major focus; a co-authored book was published by Routledge in 2021. Work from 2020 on gendered responses to Covid-19 and post-pandemic 'building back better', e.g. for Norad and EU/UN Women. * Gender, health and evaluation experience in conflict-affected and fragile states. Access to Justice (A2J) interventions prioritising Gender Equality and VAWG survivors, social norm change, gender and health policy development. Expertise in health sector demand-side governance, capacity development and advocacy engagement with civil society and non-state actors/health providers. Immunisation, HIV, MNCAH, VAWG prevention and other evaluation and design interventions in e.g. northern Nigeria, South Sudan, Eritrea, northern Ethiopia and in 2022 also Ukraine. * Africa experience spans assignments in Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Malawi, Rwanda, Sénégal, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe; consultancy work in Asia (Indonesia, the Philippines and Bangladesh) and the Anglophone Caribbean.
