Summary

I have managed development programs since 1980 and lived in the field continuously from 1984-2003, and for periods since, preparing, implementing and assessing programs in Africa (Mali, Egypt, Tunisia, Tanzania, Guinea, Benin, Burkina Faso, South Africa, DRC, Congo), Asia (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Nepal) and the Caribbean (Haiti). This involved strategic planning, professional management and leadership for national and community-level development programs. For 14 years, I prepared and managed field programs for international NGOs PLAN International and Save the Children, followed by five years with USAID responsible for Education programs in Mali and Benin. From 2003 to 2013, I provided operations and results measurement support to World Bank programs in Africa, Asia and Latin America, including field assignments in South Africa and India. From 2013 to 2017, for World Bank/Global Partnership for Education (GPE), I applied my operations, field, and M&E experience to support GPE financed programs in 60 countries. Since 2017, I have worked as an independent consultant for the World Bank focused on results planning and monitoring.
