Joanna Mott

United States

Summary

Joanna has more than 20 years’ experience working in international development, which commenced as a volunteer in 1995 at Puntos De Encuentro (‘Meeting Points’), a feminist rights-based NGO in Nicaragua. Since then, she has worked on a range of NGO and Government development programs in different countries. Her specialisation in gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) and WASH started in early 2000 in Timor-Leste first with Oxfam Australia, and later with the Australian Government’s rural water supply and sanitation program – BESIK. Joanna is currently the GESI Advisor on the Water for Women Fund Coordinator team. She has long held the belief about the transformative power of having a strong GESI focus in WASH programming.
