Joel Cutting

I combine a broad range of development experience and expertise in post-conflict and transition countries with private sector experience in the UK spanning several industry sectors. My expertise covers livelihoods and small enterprise development, and governance and institutional reforms in resource sectors, with a track record of achieving results in post-conflict and other institutionally challenging environments. In addition to advising senior government policy makers in Afghanistan and West Africa and senior decision makers in donor organisations (World Bank, GTZ, DFID), I can work at grass-roots level with remote communities, and engage effectively with local people and local institutions. In June 2010, I was made an 'Alumni Hero' of Birmingham University for my contribution to re-establishing local government in Sierra Leone.
