Doctor of Public Health (awaiting result), Registered Nurse, Educator, Farmer with over ten (10) years progressive experience from three different USAID/PEPFAR funded projects (IMPACT, GHAIN, SIDHAS) and Global Fund (ATM) and Seven (7) years of designing, overseeing and managing a private enterprise(Farmers Hub Africa/Agritools Nigeria), two (2) years of coaching Nursing students during clinical demonstration and field experience, three (3) years as chief executive officer commanding troops of over three thousand (3000) officers of the Nigerian Peace Corps, two (2)years of tutoring over one thousand (1000) community health undergraduates earned me additional experience in Program Management, Team management, Fundraising, Representation, Security, Finance and Compliance Management including Behavioral Change Communication, Nutrition, Gender, OVC, Humanitarian service, TB/HIV, HCT, PMTCT, MNCH, Monitoring and Evaluation, Micro enterprises, Protection, Referral, Health System Strengthening etc (just to mention a few). My last position is the Technical Officer, Prevention and Mitigation with FHI360-Adamawa State, Nigeria, implementing the over $400million USAID/PEPFAR funded SIDHAS Project, in the same state I acted as the Senior Technical Officer prevention, care and treatment for three months where I provide trainings, capacity building, coordination, partnership support, mentorship, supervision and technical support to seven (7)Medical Doctors/Technical Assistants, eighteen (18) coordinating case managers, two hundred and forty four (244) case managers, thirty (30) community volunteers, five (5) community based organization staffs, over 90 Government of Nigeria staffs, ten (10) faith based organization staffs and many other civil society organizations to reduce the burden of HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria by building sustainable local capacity to deliver high quality, comprehensive treatment, care and related services including provision of PMTCT, antiretroviral over the long term. I successfully managed a pool of over ten thousand (10,000) orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and their households through a quality case management pathway, achieved 70% graduation, 100% linkage of HIV positive OVC to antiretroviral health facilities, 100% TB/HIV screening, 75% viral load suppression among the HIV positive OVC, 100% service provision and 100% quality data and reporting into the National OVC Management Information System (NOMIS), Transited 226 OVC to government of Adamawa State. I successfully managed a pool of over 29,000 clients currently enrolled in care across twelve (12) comprehensive sites, eight (8) Primary Health Care facilities through integration of chronic care model and information-motivation-behavior(IMB) based adherence counseling using the case management approach to achieve 99% client linkage including pregnant women, 90% retention, 73% suppression and 98% adherence level among clients, transited fifteen (15) PLHIV support groups from facility to community, established eleven (11) new support groups, upgraded the twenty six support groups to cooperative societies enabling them to access FADAMA II and Federal Government of Nigeria’s Agric grant, established eleven (11) village savings and loan associations (VSLA) and sustained twenty three (23) that was inherited from NELA project, established 36 caregivers forum, 41 kids clubs and 14 community child protection committees. The use of CUG phones to improve client tracking and management is a course I actively advocated for and saw to its successful implementation at the CO level. I pioneered the private partnership with the American University of Nigeria to improve the quality of life of over one hundred and forty (140) SIDHAS supported PLHIVs, older OVC and their caregivers to received economic strengthening & livelihood support in which over $5000 was saved. About six (6) years ago, i pioneered the humanitarian response activity through strong partnership with state stakeholders to mobilize and provide HIV testing, Hepatitis testing, clients tracking and OVC services to flood internally displace persons(IDP) and later for Boko Haram IDPs in government camps through which the achievements earned me to currently be the secretary of Health sector, co-secretary of protection sector and active member of the state humanitarian coordination committee, the laudable activity gave birth to Nigeria’s FHI360 Humanitarian Response. I pioneered e-case management platform using social media (WhatsApp) to build capacity of case managers, send updates, facilitate question and answer sessions, receive feedbacks, share weekly reports, hold e-meetings with case managers towards improving the quality of life of clients. As a way of show casing our achievements as a state, I developed over Five (5) success stories, one was published in “Inside Nigeria” and I coordinated the writing of over fifty (50) case management success stories by case managers. I have also gathered significant multi-sectorial experience across Nigeria’s geo-political zone working and or supporting project staffs in Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Bauchi, FCT, Yobe, Taraba, Adamawa, Kano and Borno state. Educationally, I earned a Higher Certificate in General Nursing (HND equivalent), Bachelor of Science in Public Health, Masters in Public Health, Postgraduate Diploma in Education, currently awaiting my PhD in Public health result and attended over 100 short courses from various national and international academic and capacity building institutions which gave me the opportunity to get both academic and practical/field experience.
