Over 20 years of experience with social development and humanitarian policy development in Africa. 15 years of experience with bilateral and multilateral development partners. 8 years’ experience with EU Development Cooperation and EDF procedures. Extensive knowledge and experience of EDF procedures including managing and implementing EDF projects at IGAD and EAC; served as EU Liaison Officer for IGAD and EAC involved in providing technical support to the RECs on compliance with EDF rules and procedures including support on procurement (preparation of tender dossiers for procurement of services etc). More than 8 years working on social protection projects; extensive field experience in remote and hard to reach areas including southern Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia and arid and semi-arid parts of Kenya. Sound knowledge and experience in PCM, extensive experience in project proposal writing and project development including log frames and budgeting; vast experience in working with NGOs and managing programmes supporting civil society organizations in the field of advocacy with national governments and regional organization for policies and programmes that that promote the rights of vulnerable and marginalized groups including women, children and older persons. Experience in capacity building of government officials and civil society organization on rights-based programming, social protection and project cycle management Team Leader experience for Operational Monitoring of the National Social Safety Nets Programme of the Kenya Government; has been a Key Expert for two EU funded programmes at IGAD and at the EAC and also undertaken several consultancies for OXFAM and IGAD.
