Koen holds a BSc. in Land and Water Management, followed by a MSc. in Climate Change, both from the University of Wageningen. He has worked with the Permanent Mission of the Netherlands to the FAO, WFP and IFAD.
Koen started his professional career in 2011 with Euroconsult Mott MacDonald, an international development consultancy, working on development projects funded by bilateral and multilateral donors. He has been involved as a junior consultant in Bangladesh, Egypt, Sudan and Yemen, in projects related to climate smart agriculture, climate vulnerability and adaptation, disaster risk reduction, participatory water management and climate change policy.
As a Junior Professional with SNV, he is working in the extensive livestock project (KRDP), mainly focusing on issues related to climate resilience and drought management. This includes community based adaptation and drought contingency planning.
