With a MPH followed by PhD in public health, I have 10+ years of experience in the health system of a developing country, largely on strengthening health systems on aspects of policy, planning and guidelines development; research and evidence generation; evidence to policy; and monitoring and evaluation. In my whole career, I have worked very closely with the high level policy makers and planners within the Ministry of Health, and have contributed to the development of national health policy, national health sector strategy, national multisectoral action plan on NCDs, national emergency response plan to name a few. My current projects are national burden of disease, assessment of efficiency and responsiveness of provincial and municipal health system in Nepal, community engagement intervention to improve quality of care at municipal level, assessment of impact of COVID-19 on health services in Nepal, and I am a member of Incident Command System a mechanism on health sector response to COVID-19 where I have been actively engaging on development of periodic plans in COVID response as well as monitoring progress.
