Dr. Laura C. Altobelli works in global health research, program planning, management and evaluation, and public policy advocacy, with interests in the design, testing and scale-up of solutions for strengthening public health systems in developing countries. Her recent work has focused on developing and testing innovative models of community-based primary health care and behavior change. She advocates for national health care organization and management, financing, and human resources policies, with strategies and policies for citizen participation in primary health care management, and community health worker training and supervision. She applies technical expertise to strengthening programs for reduction of maternal-neonatal-infant mortality, child stunting and anemia, using integrated approaches for behavior change communications, systems strengthening, community participation and empowerment, and collaborative management between health systems, communities, and local government.
